A leap year comes around every 4 years on February 29th. According to an Irish legend, St Bridget wanted women to be allowed to propose to men so she struck a deal with St Patrick so that they could, when a leap year fell.
In many European countries, the tradition stated that if you proposed and were refused then your intended had to buy you a dress or pay a penalty of money. In upper class European societies the refusal of a woman’s proposal meant the man had to buy her 12 pairs of gloves. Apparently to hide that she doesn’t wear an engagement ring on her finger.
If your one of those ladies who have decided to take your future into your own hands then what colour you wear may help with your success. When choosing what to wear when proposing, pick something that has both pink and blue in it. Pink is a good colour to wear to attract a steady partner. It represents the best traits of romantic red but is calmer and more pure than passionate red, it symbolizes romance and long-term happiness. Blue is also a good colour if you’re looking for long term commitment and stability in a relationship.
The clothes themselves shouldn’t matter too much as long as you are not a wearing a potato sack or bin bag but maybe a dress will put the odds further in your favour. Good luck x
