Spring Wishlist

I know that writing about Spring while most of Europe is experiencing weather that can only be described as a Winter backlash is kind of mean. In my defence though it is because I’m so miserable with the weather and looking for some sort of diversion that I spent most of this morning deciding what I needed (wanted) to add to my wardrobe to update it for spring. Happily I realised that they are all under €50, if that is not a reason to smile then I don’t know what is. Here’s my Spring wishlist have you decided whats on yours yet?

Occasion Wear for Gamine Personalities

A reader asks: I am a Gamine personality, I like clothes but find occasion wear difficult as many of the styles are fussy. Can you give me some ideas for dressing up.

Gamines Style Personalities do enjoy clothes but often find dressing up a bit difficult since they like uncluttered styles and accessories. An easy way to look a little more striking than usual is by using colour or patterned accessories.  Take a look at these ideas for occasion wear for gamine personalities.

Formal Styles for Gamines

1.Use block colour

2. For a more formal look choose a coat and dress in neutrals and pair with accessories that add a pop of colour.

3. Choose bold colour and pattern to create a sharp look.

4. For a more formal event, keep your outfit simple, choose a hat or fascinator in the same colour as your coat and add accessories in varying shades but add colour through your dress.

Natural Style Personality

Natural Style Personality is most often found in women who have little or no interest in fashion. Naturals can be reluctant to spend time and money on their appearance and instead find other things in life more important. You prefer casual and sporty styles most of the time.  Some naturals do show some interest in their appearance but overall the natural style personality is characterized by a sporty look and easy and quick beauty routine. So, how do you know if you have a Natural style personality?

  • You only wear formal clothes if you have to
  • When dressing up you choose a classic look with minimal accessories, low shoes and little makeup
  • You don't pay attention to fashion
  • Colours are not very important and usually chosen for practical purposes 
  • Natural earthy colours may be preferred

I do love to wear my classical black trousers, they suit with every top,
feel comfy and look stylish.

What bodyshape do you think you are?
Apple

How important are clothes and make up to you on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1
being very important?
I think I have relatively good self-esteem so make up is not a must, i’d
say 7. On a normal day I use mascara, on days when I have formal meetings
I make more effort.

What colours do you wear the most?
I have made a conscious decision to buy other colours than black. I have
a lot of pastel colours, Red and turquoise.

What is your favourite thing about your self?
My positive attitude toward life.

Who are your style icons?
Michelle Obama, Claudia Schiffer, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Middleton, I
appreciate their eloquent and timeless style.

What do you believe is the secret to great style?
I believe the secret to be a real confidence, you should feel be
comfortable in your own skin and embrace yourself as you are. Women
should always keep a focus on what they achieve rather how they look.

What is the one piece of advice most women need but don’t get?
A smile is the greatest accessory and the foundation of a great
self-esteem.

What’s the best piece of style wisdom you’ve ever received?
Only show off a cleavage or legs, not both.

What is the worst current trend?
Baggy trousers, definitely.

Classical with hints of sparkle

What is your secret to making yourself stand out?
In the networking events you have to be approachable, too polished look
or poisonous colours might not work for your advantage.
